Certificate II in Make up Artistry

 

For those looking for a career in any aspect of the make up industry this is the most recognised Qualification within the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). The course includes advanced makeup techniques for all aspects of photography, remedial camouflage, TV, film, and commercial production and is taught by very highly experienced make ups artists and trainers.

All inclusive cost of the course is only $2200 if paid in full on enrolment. Normal cost is $2500 and students can pay this amount over 10 months interest free thanks to our association with Certegy Ezi- Pay. Students pay a deposit of $650 and then pay the remainder of $1850 on a fortnightly basis. This equates to only $46.25 per week (Conditions apply)
Note: For students who already hold a Certificate II, III, IV or Diploma can achieve this qualification in less time and at less cost.

Timetable

Students are able to enrol and commence their studies at any time following an interview /induction with the Principal, Pamela Rigby. At this time students will receive workbooks and student handbooks. Tutor support is available and should be arranged with the Principal where necessary. Please note that students will only be able to gain a government recognised Certificate II in Make Up Artistry with successful completion of workbooks combined with full class attendance and demonstrated competency in practical assessments under supervision of the designated teacher.
All practical learning and assessments can be undertaken on set week days or Sundays. Please call for details.

*It is important to note that if students do not attend the classes and assessments as per the timetable, extra fees may need to be charged by the Academy.


Please note: models will be required on some days – you will have advance warning of these dates. There is no charge for anyone who accompanies you as your model.

New special Add in Course!
Subject to demand and additional short course (2 or 3 Sundays - price TBA) will follow on where students can learn to style hair for makeup shoots and do 'up styles' for weddings and formals. Our famous makeup artist trainer is also a fully qualified hairdresser and currently arranges hair for her star clients, so she is very experienced i this field. GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION
If you are looking for a career in any aspect of the Make-up Industry this is the most recognized award in Australia and is endorsed by the Australian Quality Training Framework. The course includes advanced make up techniques for all purposes whether working from home as a make up artist or in a store ( David Jones for example) or in more specialised fields such as photography, remedial camouflage, TV, film and commercial production.
Your tutors are highly experienced teachers of make up and advanced make up and are true experts in their field. Narelle Payne who will teach the advanced units is well recognized for her skills and has worked extensively in the photographic make up area. Narelle has taught both novice and experts for many years and works with June Dally Watkins models. She is also a fully qualified award winning beauty therapist and Salon owner and enjoys passing on her expert knowledge of skin care and Salon management
Your other tutor is Carrie Dolphin who has almost 10 years experience as a Beauty Therapist and as an educator and continues to work in the industry whilst teaching for Beauty Skills part time. We are very fortunate to have such outstanding teachers who both continue to work in industry and keep their skills current whilst indulging their passion and commitment to teaching.

Resources

Throughout the course you will use high quality professional make up products and brushes in class, and all products are included in the course fees. We also offer the opportunity to purchase a make up kit, case and a set of top quality brushes at a hugely discounted rate. Any purchases you make are for your own use to practice and refine your skills at home – you will not be required to bring any items in for College use.
A uniform top will be provided for your use at no extra charge. You will need a pair of closed in shoes for health and safety and a pair of plain trousers – black or navy . All students must adhere to College dress and conduct requirements as detailed in your handbook
All units are Nationally Accredited, which means that should you decide to continue your studies to a Certificate II in Nail Technology, Certificate III in Beauty Services or Certificate IV or Diploma of Beauty Therapy, all relevant units will be credited towards the higher level of achievement.
